Mercy Home for Boys & Girls in Chicago’s West Loop is seeking a Youth Care Worker to provide compassionate care, safety, and guidance to youth in residential programs. It is a full-time overnight role with a 10pm–8am schedule, located at 1140 W. Jackson Blvd, Chicago, IL 60607.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least two years of experience working with youth.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license and ability to drive a van.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Remain awake and mindful of milieu and safety of youth.
• Conduct bedroom checks at minimum every 30 minutes (more often as needed).
• Log bed checks and youth activities accurately in the logbook.
• Communicate with Youths’ families, logs, emails, and on-call supervisor.
• Engage with youth in daily routines and activities; build therapeutic relationships.
