Job summary

Upbring seeks a Youth Care Worker to provide direct care and supervision for Unaccompanied Children, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. The role requires de-escalation, crisis intervention, and adherence to ORR and licensing standards.

The position includes 3rd shift hours (10:00 pm – 6:00 am) and onboarding trainings. Bilingual English/Spanish skills and willingness to work extended shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• One year employment experience in the child welfare field working with children/adolescents.
• Must be able to work extended shifts, including 12-hour shifts at least once a week.
• Ability to use basic computer skills and documentation programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake services for incoming UC, including paperwork, assessments, and orientation.
• Provide basic needs upon arrival (meals, clothing, hygiene products, shower, bedroom assignment).
• Supervise UC and enforce behavior limits per treatment plan and ORR standards.
• Perform behavior management and crisis intervention with 1:1 monitoring as directed.
• Maintain a safe, organized living space for UC.
• Document interactions and interventions per behavior plans and ORR standards.
• Assist UC with social skills, anger management, and daily living skills.
• Accompany UC on outings and ensure safety during transport to appointments.
• Develop positive relationships with management, staff, UC, and volunteers to meet program goals.
• Assist in evacuations during emergencies; attend required trainings and meetings.
