Staffmark Group is hiring a Yard Hostler Non-CDL in Stamford, CT. The role involves moving 53-foot trailers with a yard goat, performing blindside backing into dock doors, and coordinating movements with yard and dock teams. CDL is not required, and overnight schedules are available.

You will operate safely on an outdoor site, with a flexible schedule spread over 3-4 days per week and coverage seven days a week. Weekly pay and benefits are offered as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable yard hostling or yard jockey experience.
• Experience operating a yard goat or terminal tractor.
• Ability to maneuver 53-foot trailers in a busy yard.
• Experience backing trailers into dock doors, including blindside backing.
• Strong safety, communication, and operational efficiency.
• Ability to work flexible overnight schedules.

Responsibilities

• Operate a yard goat to move, stage, and position 53-foot trailers.
• Blindside backing and docking trailers into doors and parking areas.
• Couple and uncouple trailers, connecting air and electrical lines.
• Coordinate trailer movements with yard personnel and dock teams to maintain efficient operations.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report safety concerns.
• Follow yard safety procedures during peak-season operations.
