Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Yard Driver to support trailer movement at the distribution center and assist with trailer preparation for shipping.

You will monitor trailer status, perform pre/post trips, and ensure proper securing of loads. The role offers a pay rate of $25.50 per hour, Sunday through Thursday 7:00pm to 4:00am, and benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, FSA/HSA, life insurance, vacation, sick leave, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years of driving experience preferred.
• 100,000-mile tractor-trailer experience preferred.
• Class A CDL required.
• Accident-free driving record for the past three years preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend labels, instructions and bills of lading.
• Ability to perform basic math to verify quantities.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor and attach trailer, secure lines.
• Move and spot trailers to doors or lot locations.
• Inspect trailers for defects and pre/post-trip checks.
• Ensure product is secured for transport and refrigeration unit works; report issues.
• Drive within yard or short road distances following safety regulations.
• Perform loading/unloading as required.
• Execute other duties as assigned.
