Job summary

Yale New Haven Health's Greenwich Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for night and weekend surgical coverage. The role offers per diem, 12-hour shifts, rotating teams and cross-cover opportunities across Surgical Sub specialties and Trauma/Emergency General Surgery.

Qualifications

Effective collaboration with physicians and health care teams.
Solid knowledge in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and clinical medicine.
Commitment to professional ethics, patient care, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Conduct histories and physical exams to evaluate patients for surgery.
Perform daily rounds on surgical inpatients and ensure continuity of care.
Order and interpret tests; develop treatment plans and discharge plans; prescribe medications.
Document patient progress clearly using EPIC.
Assist in the OR across multiple surgical specialties and assist with trauma coverage as needed.
Coordinate with nursing, case management, and other teams.
