Job summary

Yale New Haven Health seeks a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (PA/APRN) for a surgical float across multiple services, including Trauma/Emergency General Surgery and Colorectal. The role provides flexible inpatient and perioperative coverage with a schedule of three 12–13 hour shifts per week, rotating day and night shifts monthly, and on-call responsibility within surgical pools.

Applicants should have acute care and/or OR experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Active PA-C or NP licensure and applicable certifications.
• APRN/PA credentialing and hospital appointment processes as per state and hospital rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Perform inpatient consults, rounds, admissions, discharges, and perioperative care in collaboration with surgeons.
• Support both acute care and operating room environments and perioperative coordination.
• Participate in on-call coverage as part of designated surgical pools.
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, quality, and collaboration with surgical teams.
