Job summary

The South Dakota Department of Social Services / Human Services Center in Yankton, SD is seeking a communications specialist to monitor, relay, and disseminate information through the center's telephone switchboard, radio, and paging system to support safe, efficient patient and staff operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of telephone switchboard console operation, two-way radio systems, radio codes and etiquette.
• Ability to answer telephones, operate radio and paging equipment, and type quickly and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, relay, and disseminate information via telephones, radios, and paging system to staff and patients.
• Maintain logs, ensure safety and security, and support customer service to patients and visitors.
• Work nights for full-time and pm hours for part-time, including holidays and weekends.
