Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is hiring a Dishroom Clerk for the Market Grille. The role focuses on keeping dishes and equipment clean, supporting a fast-paced kitchen, and ensuring a clean, safe work environment. Night and weekend shifts are required.

You will be part of a team delivering great food and service to customers, staying active, and maintaining high hygiene standards throughout each shift.

Qualifications

• Follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
• Perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
• Understand and follow directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
• Work effectively as part of a team to keep the kitchen clean and running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and making every interaction a positive one.
• Wash department equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, and pans thoroughly and consistently.
• Handle food safely and ensure the work area is always clean and neat.
• Remove trash in a timely manner and take department garbage to the compactor or designated area.
• Answer the telephone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned.
• Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines.
• Report to work when scheduled and on time
