Job summary

US Foods is hiring Warehouse Team Members in Grand Island to safely pick customer orders and build palletized loads. The role involves using order selecting software, operating an electric pallet jack, and delivering damaged-free products to the dock.

Shifts are night-based (8+ hours, Sunday-Thursday) with occasional weekends/holidays. Comfort with multi-temperature environments and physical lifting (20–80+ lbs) is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and communicate in English to attend trainings, hold conversations, and enter information on reports.
• Able to work 8+ hour night shifts, Sunday-Thursday, with weekends/holidays as needed.
• Recent experience in high endurance or highly physical activity.
• Experience selecting large scale orders in warehouse or distribution center.
• Experience operating motorized pallet jack or similar equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safely and accurately select customer orders and build pallets.
• Perform pre-shift equipment checks and safely operate an electric pallet jack.
• Move products from racks to pallets as directed by order selecting software.
• Validate that correct product is selected and damage-free.
• Deliver palletized orders to the correct dock area and shrink wrap as needed.
• Team to keep aisles clear and return pallet jacks after use.

Main Ingredients of the Job

• Safely and accurately select customer orders. Build and wrap pallets to meet weekly standards for productivity and accuracy
• Perform pre-shift equipment checks and safely operate an electric pallet
• Carefully move products from racks to pallets directed by order selecting software and equipment
• Validate that correct product has been selected and is damage free
• Efficiently deliver products to correct dock area and shrink wraps palletized orders
• Team up to clear aisles of debris, stacks empty pallets from slots in aisle and return pallet jacks to charging area

Physical Requirements

Comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment ranging from -5 degrees to over 100 degrees required

Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively; moving 1,000+ cases of product during each shift required

What You Bring to the Table

• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language such as to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, read labels, and enter information on reports if needed
• Able to work 8+ hour night shifts, typically Sunday - Thursday. At times weekends and holidays will be required
• Recent experience (within past 6 months) in high endurance or highly physical activity or role preferred e.g. lifting/transferring patients, sports/fitness, farming, construction work, etc.
• Experience selecting large scale orders in a warehouse or distribution center environment preferred
• Experience operating motorized pallet jack or similar equipment preferred

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is $24.04/hr. This role will also receive overtime and incentive compensation based on productivity and quality.
