Job summary

MEC is hiring for a warehouse associate in Compton, CA. Duties include receiving, loading, unloading, and organizing cargo with attention to accuracy and safety. Must maintain records, operate WMS, and adhere to DG/HAZMAT and MEC SOPs.

Requires forklift certification and 1 year of warehouse experience; night schedule with some weekend rotation. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work 8 hours per day in a physically demanding environment, with strong time management and teamwork

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification required.
• 1 year of warehouse experience; freight forwarder experience preferred.
• Must be able to work Sunday-Thursday 3:00 pm to close.
• Experience with WMS, RF scanner, and basic computer.
• Able to follow detailed instructions and perform repetitive tasks.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs; stand for 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Help achieve profitable growth on shipments by analyzing orders for overages and shortages.
• Inspect deliveries for damage and advise managers of findings.
• Reconcile and confirm paperwork accuracy before releasing product.
• Maintain security levels and comply with regulatory and safety requirements.
• Update inbound/outbound shipments in WMS including weight, dimensions, photos.
• Receive, load, unload cargo and verify paperwork and damages.
• Organize warehouse floor space and maintain a safe, regulatory environment.
• Prepare and palletize cargo, perform data entry, and assist in inventory counts.
• Ensure proper handling and operation of equipment; follow SOPs and MEC policies.
• Support team and participate in trainings; take on additional responsibilities as needed.
