Select Specialty Hospital - Panama City is seeking a Unit Secretary for a full-time night shift in Panama City, FL. This role offers a thorough orientation and the opportunity to support patient care units with clerical duties, order transcription, and coordination of transportation and tests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Experience with medical files and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Use independent judgment to provide clerical services to the patient care units, including transcription of orders and filing of reports.
• Answering the telephone, taking and delivering messages.
• Maintain close communication with the Charge Nurse/House Supervisor.
• Handle all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
• Order supplies as needed from Materials Management.
• Verify physician privileges prior to transcribing orders.
• Appropriately transcribe and flag orders from charts.
• Arrange transportation for patients and coordinate follow-up/outside tests.
