IU Health in Indianapolis is seeking a full-time Night position that blends direct patient care with unit clerical duties. You will support the patient care team, ensure a safe, clean environment, and assist physicians, patients, families, and vendors with information and directions.

Responsibilities include scheduling tests and procedures, maintaining patient records, signing patients in and out, and handling equipment and supply logistics.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required; CPR may be required to complete Unit Secretary training.
• Requires previous comparable acute patient care experience or successful completion of the IU Health PCA education program.
• Requires current Basic Life Support certification through the AHA or IU Health PCA program; other certifications may be required.
• Requires basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Requires knowledge of infection control principles and patient care procedures.
• Requires basic computer skills.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct patient care and unit clerical duties under the direction of a Clinical Nurse.
• Assist the patient care team and provide information, directions to physicians, patients, families, customers and vendors.
• May schedule tests and procedures for the patient, maintain patient records and sign patients in and out of the unit.
• May be responsible for ordering, receiving and delivering equipment and supplies for the patient care team.
• May provide continuous observation including suicide prevention where required.
