Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to operate ultrasound equipment, acquire high-quality images, and communicate findings to interpreting physicians. The role involves teaching students and staff, ensuring patient safety, and participating in on-call rotations.

Required ARDMS/ARRT credentials, NH license, and BLS. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of ultrasound experience and a willingness to lead and collaborate within the department.

Qualifications

• AR DMS required and ARRT in Sonography (R.T.(S)) required
• NH Radiologic Technologist license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Ultrasound scanning experience with multiple patient populations
• 2-3 years of ultrasound experience preferred; leadership experience 0-1 year preferred

Responsibilities

• Verify patient and exam details with two points of identification.
• Prepare and clean equipment and room for each patient; maintain stock.
• Explain exam clearly to patients and ensure confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Collaborate with leadership to optimize patient flow and equipment use.
• Participate in on-call, holiday, and shift rotations as required.
• Oversee ultrasound examinations and supervise staff and students.
