Job summary

MaineGuide is hiring for a seasonal night-shift dispatcher based in Augusta, ME. The role focuses on detecting unplanned incidents and communicating information for incident management to the public and public agencies.

Work includes dispatching units during weather and traffic events and ensuring safe, informed mobility decisions. Responsibilities cover prioritizing incident response, coordinating with MaineDOT personnel, and updating ATMS/ITS systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in radio dispatch communications, law enforcement, public safety, or transportation requiring radio telecommunications equipment.

Responsibilities

• View, create, modify, and enable response scenarios to assist the public and promote traffic flow.
• Assess and respond to major incidents with obstacle, injury, or duration estimation and coordinate emergency responder assistance.
• Coordinate with interagency traffic management during incidents and events to ensure proper response.
• Receive and route non-emergency and emergency requests to appropriate agencies or departments.
