Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a Tapping Machine Operator for the Montpelier, IN facility. The role is 3rd shift (10pm-6am) with training on 1st shift and a starting wage of $22.60 per hour plus a 7% shift differential.

Responsibilities include starting the machine, gauging parts, recording data, and moving materials with PIV and electric pallet jack. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and the ability to work overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Mathematical ability and practical application of percentages and ratios.
• Ability to read and write, effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to understand written, verbal or diagrammatic form of instructions.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, push, pull and reach.
• Ability to lift and/or carry 5-25 pounds regularly and occasionally 25-65 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Starts machine and observes operation, making adjustments as needed.
• Gauging and checking parts for each catch pan, for conformance to specifications.
• Record and plot on SPC charts
• Record production on daily sheet
• Operate PIV and electric pallet jack to move tubs and load machines
• Must be able to work overtime
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor
