Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a Surgery Night ED Admissions professional for St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford, MA. The role supports SPG Surgeons overnight and acts as first call for emergency department consults, with overnight APP coverage for the hospital.

Required are a related bachelor's degree, AMA-approved PA program, and Massachusetts RN registration; certification and NCCPA within one year are mandatory. One year APP experience and Surgical First Assistant certification are also expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program.
• Nurse Practitioner: Masters of Science Degree in Nursing.
• Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Physician Assistant is required.
• Massachusetts RN registration is required.
• Surgical First Assistant certification required upon hire.
• One year experience as an Advanced Practice Practitioner.
• Certified by NCCPA within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first call for ED consults with physician back-up for Surgical Specialties.
• Conduct rounds for IP General Surgery as needed.
• Overnight APP coverage for St. Luke's Hospital.
