Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Sleep Technologist to perform polysomnography and related assessments in the sleep center. Under supervision, you will record sleep studies including EEG, EOG, EMG, EKG, and ventilation, and may initiate therapy by physician order.

You will calibrate and troubleshoot equipment, ensure data quality, and write preliminary interpretations while maintaining adherence to clinical guidelines and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• Understands polysomnographic instrumentation, including recording and devices.
• Able to perform sleep studies, calibrate equipment, and interpret basic data.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of sleep procedures in the department.
• Can perform overnight sleep studies and Multiple Sleep Latency tests with high quality assurance (90–100%).
• Able to titrate CPAP/BIPAP following physician order.
• Administers O2 therapy with or without CPAP/BIPAP.
• Troubleshoots equipment to maintain study progress.
• Recognizes and responds to clinical events during testing.
• Reviews patient information and completes questionnaires for sleep/wake complaints.
• Evaluates the study as recorded and writes a preliminary report.
• Calibrates instruments to maintain top-quality recordings.
• Identifies artifacts and ensures accurate documentation of findings.
• Keeps current with sleep medicine advancements through education.
