Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a polysomnographic technologist to join night shift operations. You will prepare patients for overnight sleep studies, set up EEG/EKG/EMG/EOG monitoring, and manage CPAP titration under physician guidance.

Responsibilities include data collection, patient monitoring, and equipment troubleshooting, with flexibility to travel between sites as needed. The role requires HS diploma and post-secondary sleep tech education, with certification pursuit encouraged.

Qualifications

• HS diploma with 2 years patient care experience and planned registry within 1 year.
• Two years health care-related experience preferred.
• Completion of a sleep technology program.
• Pursuit of RPSGT/RST/SDS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient ID and obtain consent for the PSG study.
• Prepare patient and caregiver, explain procedures for PSG setup.
• Set up and calibrate monitoring equipment and interfaces.
• Place and secure EEG, EKG, EMG, and EOG monitoring electrodes.
• Attach recording transducers for airflow, respiratory effort, oximetry, and capnography.
• Initiate PSG with lights out and monitor data, escalate as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and adjust environment as required.
• Under physician direction, initiate and titrate nasal CPAP per orders.
