Job summary

Covenant House New Jersey seeks a Youth Engagement Support Staff (YESS) to provide support to young people in a safe and inclusive environment. This role requires excellent communication skills and teamwork in promoting wellness, education, employment, and social navigation for youth.

Applicants must be available for evening shifts, with responsibilities including crisis de-escalation and documentation of youth activities. The position offers an hourly rate of $21.13 along with benefits like medical, dental, and vision coverage.

Qualifications

• Preferred experience with young people ages 18-24 experiencing homelessness or human trafficking.
• Knowledge of public benefits and community resources in NJ.
• Must have a valid NJ driver's license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to young people that is strength-based and trauma-informed.
• Monitor youth while taking medication and document in Medication Logs.
• Engage with youth in daily house activities.
