Rea Magnet Wire in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Production Operator for the Nights shift (2-2-3). The role involves setting up and operating wire insulation equipment, performing changeovers, and maintaining quality and housekeeping standards on a fast-paced manufacturing line.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, forklift certification within 90 days, basic math and computer skills, and strong mechanical aptitude for using common hand tools and measuring devices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and handle stress.
• Capable of completing forklift certification within 90 days of employment
• Basic computer skills
• Basic reading, writing and math
• Must be able to master the skills required and complete operator training
• Knowledge of safety, distribution, and manufacturing best practices
• High level of mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with basic hand tools and measuring devices, verified through work history and references

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate taping machines to insulate aluminum and copper wire based on order specifications for insulation type, width, thickness of layers, and footage.
• Complete changeovers, conversions, start-ups and spec/package changes.
• Report any set deficiencies to your Group Leader or Supervisor.
• Identify scrap wire with the appropriate documentation.
• ODQ all finished product.
• Change lube felts on changeovers, ox jobs, and once per month by plants guidelines or as needed.
• Complete all necessary quality tests.
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping.
• Train Operators as assigned.
