Job summary

Rea Magnet Wire in Ashland, VA is seeking a production operator to manage the aluminum polymer coated magnet wire manufacturing process. You will perform staging, setup, testing, packaging, and documentation while ensuring equipment integrity and safety during 12-hour shifts.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to handle multiple tasks safely and efficiently in a manufacturing setting. Forklift certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of safety, distribution and manufacturing best practices.
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks safely and efficiently.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using basic hand tools and measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• Follow Production Orders, ISO Work Instructions, Safe Work Instructions and other production documents.
• Perform routine preventative machine maintenance.
• Select and stage proper supplies and feed stock; string up machines; set machine and controls for proper operation.
• Continuously monitor production to assure product meets specifications.
• Maintain optimal efficiency and productivity and minimal scrap.
• Perform start-up and periodic quality testing.
• Repair insulation as needed.
• Maintain safe machine operation.
• Maintain production records.
• Weigh, package, label, palletize and stage product for distribution.
• Safely load and unload raw materials and finished goods.
• Maintain high level of housekeeping and maintenance throughout facility.
