Job summary

Johnson Matthey Plc is seeking a Warehouse Shift Lead to manage a night shift team of operators and material controllers, ensuring safe receipt, storage, movement and dispatch of goods. You will oversee training, security, stock accuracy, and adherence to procedures while driving continuous improvement and a customer-focused delivery mindset.

The role requires supervisory experience, warehouse operations knowledge, and experience with automated inventory control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred.
• Supervisory experience; union experience preferred.
• Experience in receiving, inventory control and domestic traffic control procedures desirable.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial warehouse environment desirable.
• Experience with automated inventory control; scanning of materials; BOM adjustments desirable.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a shift team to ensure safe and secure warehouse activities within procedures and policies.
• Oversee training of new workers on site operating procedures and standards.
• Organize warehouse security for safe receipt, movement, storage and distribution of goods.
• Maintain stock accuracy and control; oversee stock takes and related procedures.
• Ensure movement and quality inspection of products across multiple locations to meet schedules.
• Manage staff processes (absences, performance, overtime, holidays) and related personnel issues.
• Ensure a customer-focused delivery mindset across shift teams and warehouse.
• Monitor effectiveness of procedures and recommend improvements.
• Lead adherence to 5S standards and support Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct incident investigations with root-cause analysis and clear action recommendations.
