Job summary

Allina Health is seeking an Observation Assistant for Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. This on-site, part-time role supports continuous visual monitoring of patients during night shifts, with weekend rotation and a focus on safety and accurate data entry.

The ideal candidate has CNA certification, nursing assistant academy completion, or direct patient care experience, plus comfort with telehealth tools and computer systems.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age and meet required competencies stated in the job description.
• Completion of CNA program or Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy, or prior direct patient care experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; telehealth and computer skills advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients.
• Monitor up to twelve patients at a time and alert nursing staff as needed.
• Enter patient data accurately into the system and ensure devices are functioning.
• Communicate with patients via the continuous visual monitoring system and redirect as necessary.
• Participate in rotations and assist with unit workflows and safety practices.
