Job summary

Waabi is seeking a Vehicle Reliability Engineer for the night shift to diagnose, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability of autonomous vehicle systems. You will diagnose issues during testing and on-road operations, implement safe temporary fixes, and collaborate with software, hardware, and operations teams to drive root-cause analyses and long-term improvements.

The role requires hands-on experience with Linux, CAN bus diagnostics, data analysis, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in automotive, robotics, aerospace, or related industries focused on troubleshooting complex vehicle systems.
• Proficient with Linux-based systems and command-line diagnostics.
• Solid understanding of computer networking fundamentals.
• Experience with CAN bus diagnostics and automotive diagnostic tools.
• Strong data analysis with spreadsheets or scripting; excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Identify and diagnose issues during vehicle testing and on-road operations.
• Use hardware and software knowledge to address failures and anomalies.
• Implement temporary fixes while ensuring safety and performance standards.
• Log and document all vehicle issues with diagnostics data and steps.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and operations teams for root-cause analyses.
• Translate data into actionable insights for system improvements.
• Suggest and implement process improvements and preventive measures.
• Participate in pre-test and post-test evaluations to ensure test-readiness.
• Serve as technical point of contact during vehicle testing.
• Identify opportunities to streamline troubleshooting and data capture.
