Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg, VA seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to prepare patients and perform ultrasound exams under Radiologist supervision. Funds and equipment are provided to ensure quality imaging and patient care.

Ideal candidates hold an accredited ultrasound program, BLS, and ARDMS/ARRT registration with up to six months to obtain OB/GYN (if not registered). MRI environment screening may apply for MRI associates.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited program in ultrasound or cross-training program.
• AHA BLS Provider required.
• ARDMS or ARRT registration at time of hire with timing milestones.
• Registry in Abdomen, Vascular, and Pediatric Sonography preferred.
• Three years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations and verify orders.
• Perform ultrasound examinations across age groups and maintain competency.
• Adhere to departmental policies and ensure patient safety and care.
• Disinfect equipment and maintain infection control standards.
• Supervise and collaborate with students in ultrasound training.
• Document procedures and support billing and department operations.
