Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery in Minnesota. Requires 2+ years L&D/postpartum and NRP, with night shift (3x12 hours, 1900-0730) and Epic charting. Active MN RN license and BLS/NRP are required; some AWHONN certifications preferred.

Open to travelers; housing and travel reimbursements offered. First-time travelers welcome; 100+ miles from facility preferred. | Open positions: 1.

Qualifications

Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted).
Current BLS and NRP certifications required; AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred.
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience with postpartum experience required.
Sterile vaginal exam experience required.
Fetal monitoring skills including external/ internal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required.
Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required.
Pain management and nitrous oxide skills preferred.
Minimum one supervisor reference required for consideration.

Responsibilities

Work in the Mother Baby Center, covering both Labor and Delivery and postpartum units.
Average daily census of 8 deliveries per day and 15 postpartum patients per day.
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (1900-0730).
Required to work every other weekend.
No on-call responsibilities.
Will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed.
Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system.
Provide nursing care across both labor and postpartum settings within the Mother Baby Center.
Teaching hospital and Level 2 Trauma Center setting with 258 staffed beds.
Scrubs provided by the unit.
No parking fees at this facility.

Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered.
RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days.
Candidates must be gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked as a perm staff or per diem employee at this facility.
