Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a travel Respiratory Therapist in New Orleans, LA for a 13-week night shift assignment. The role requires ACLS, BLS and current CRT/RRT licensure, with 1–2 years of RT experience preferred.

You will work 3x12-hour nights, providing care in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Dept settings. Open to first-time travelers if experienced; you must reside more than 65 miles from the facility and be prepared for on-site work with 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• CRT/RRT state license required (license required if applicable).
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; 2 years preferred.
• Experienced RT required, new graduates not accepted.
• Compact or LA license required in hand upon submission.
• Driver's license required for consideration.
• Skilled in ABG drawing and interpretation, chest physiotherapy, and ventilator troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15.
• Cares for patients in Adult Critical Care and ED settings.
• Ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, and IMV.
• Administers medications via aerosol, MDI, and nebulizer systems.
• Airway management including intubation/extubation assistance.
