Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 1+ year of experience for a night shift position requiring MI RT licensure.

Position involves 3x12-hour nights, travel between facilities, and orientation Week completion. Responsibilities include ventilator and airway management, with experience in ED, NICU, and pediatric settings preferred. Must have ACLS/BLS; flu vaccine proof or exemption within 48 hours, and supervisor references.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience required.
• Valid Michigan RT license required if applicable.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS.
• Preferred certifications: NRP, PALS.
• Proof of flu vaccination required with submission, or exemption request within 48 hours of signing.
• Supervisor-level references required.

Responsibilities

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30.
• Every other weekend requirement.
• No call requirement.
• Epic charting system experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred.
• Work settings may include Emergency Department, NICU, Pediatric Critical Care, and Pediatrics.
• Must be available for the full orientation week.
• Skills may include medication delivery systems, ventilator management, airway management, and pulmonary hygiene.
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures preferred, including CPAP/BiPAP, high frequency ventilators, and intubation assist.
• Care for patients with conditions such as ARDS, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and respiratory distress syndrome may be required.
• Travelers are expected to float first when needed.
• RTO limited to no more than 10 days.
• Locals accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction.
• First-time travelers will be considered.
• Previous internal travelers may return after 6 months; previous permanent staff may return after 1 year.
• Annual and orientation modules are self-reported and completed as part of onboarding.
