Job summary

Lutheran Health Network in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Medical-Surgical ICU (Neuro/Trauma ICU) on nights. This full-time role supports patient-centered care using the nursing process and hospital protocols.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, administer medications, monitor equipment, and collaborate with physicians and the care team. The position requires 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience and RN licensure with BCLS; ACLS/PALS

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of clinical nursing experience or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting.
• RN licensure in state or compact state required.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support required; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care in accordance with the nursing process and hospital protocols.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings; report changes in condition.
• Administer prescribed medications; monitor for side effects and document administration.
• Assist physicians during procedures within documented competency and skill level.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Respond to medical emergencies and participate in CPR and code team activities.
• Educate patients and families on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Document patient care and education thoroughly in the medical record.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
