Job summary

Food Authority Transportation Supervisor in Pineville, NC leads transportation operations, plans routes to maximize efficiency, assigns drivers and vehicles, and dispatches to ensure on-time deliveries. You will oversee fleet maintenance, monitor KPIs, train staff, ensure compliance with safety standards, and liaise with customers and vendors to maintain a high level of service.

Qualifications

• Leadership and communication skills required.
• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and routing software.
• Strong problem-solving and prioritization abilities.
• Detail-oriented with focus on accuracy and quality.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate transportation routes to maximize efficiency and minimize delivery times.
• Assign drivers and vehicles to routes based on schedules, locations, and capacity.
• Dispatch drivers and monitor progress to ensure on-time deliveries and schedule adherence.
• Manage fleet and maintenance to ensure roadworthiness and minimize downtime.
• Schedule maintenance and repairs; monitor fuel consumption and vehicle metrics.
• Supervise transportation staff; provide guidance, training, and feedback.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.
• Conduct safety inspections and address hazards or deficiencies.
• Investigate accidents/incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Liaise with customers, vendors, and stakeholders to address inquiries and concerns.
• Generate reports and KPIs to track performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Monitor KPIs and drive data-driven decisions.
