Indiana University Health is seeking a Technician-Unit Support for the Adult Critical Care Unit in Lafayette, IN. This part-time night role requires two 12-hour shifts weekly, 6:00pm–6:30am, with every third weekend and holiday rotation.

The work includes patient care and unit clerical duties, assisting clinicians, and maintaining records, with potential responsibilities in scheduling tests and managing supplies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• CPR Certification may be required.
• Requires previous comparable acute patient care experience or completion of IU Health PCA education program.
• Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or per IU Health PCA program.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of infection control principles.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a combination of direct patient care and unit clerical duties.
• Administer care under the direction of a Clinical Nurse.
• Offer information, directions and assistance to physicians, patients, families, customers and vendors.
• Schedule tests and procedures and maintain patient records.
• Sign patients in and out of the unit and manage equipment and supplies deliveries.
• May provide continuous observation including suicide risk assessment.
