Job summary

BEUMER Group is seeking a Technician I, Operations & Maintenance (Shift C - Nights) to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on the BEUMER ICS baggage handling system at Gerald R. Ford International Airport.

You will work under supervision and support upgrade projects. Responsibilities include routine and advanced maintenance of ICS components, diagnosing faults across mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems, and partnering with engineering and OEM reps to implement improvements.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of hands-on experience in automated material handling systems, preferably within airport or logistics environments.
• Must be eligible to obtain airside security clearance.
• Deep understanding of mechatronic systems, including sensors, actuators, motors, and controls.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced maintenance on BEUMER ICS components, including ICS elements, diverters, scanners, and third-party equipment used to interface with the system.
• Diagnose and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems using structured troubleshooting methods.
• Respond to system interruptions caused by carrier jams, sensor faults, or control logic errors; execute resets and root cause analysis.
• Interface with BEUMER’s High-Level Control (SAC) and PLC systems to monitor performance and execute logic-based interventions.
• Inspect system health using diagnostic tools and performance dashboards; recommend optimizations to improve throughput and reliability.
• Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, fault trends, and spare part usage in compliance with reporting protocols.
• Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Quality Control standards, including lockout/tagout procedures and PPE requirements.
