Job summary

iT1 in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Systems Engineer II (2nd shift) to support managed services infrastructure, monitor systems, respond to incidents, and mentor junior engineers. You will serve as a primary technical escalation point for customers and internal teams.

The role requires 3–5 years of infrastructure experience with Windows Server, Azure, VMware/Hyper-V, networking, and PowerShell automation; a strong emphasis on documentation and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Monitor infrastructure alerts and respond within SLA targets.
• Resolve and document incidents for internal and client systems.
• Troubleshoot Meraki/Cisco networks, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Administer Windows Server, AD, DNS, DHCP, and M365.
• Manage Azure VMs, storage, networking, backup, and identity services.
• Support VMware vSphere and Hyper-V environments.
• Escalate as needed and participate in major incidents and RCAs.
• Maintain diagrams, docs, and asset information.
• Use PowerShell for automation and efficiency.

The Systems Engineer II (2nsShift) is responsible for internal and external managed services infrastructure support. This position serves as a critical point of contact between iT1 and its customers, providing monitoring, incident response, systems administration, network troubleshooting, escalation management, documentation, and operational support while ensuring assigned work is completed in adherence to company standards.

Requirements

• Monitor and respond to infrastructure alerts, events, and monitoring-system notifications
• Research, resolve, document, and communicate internal and client incidents within defined SLA targets
• Intermediate-level network troubleshooting and configuration (Meraki, Cisco, VPNs, switching, routing, wireless, firewalls)
• Intermediate-level Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365 troubleshooting
• Intermediate-level Azure administration including virtual machines, storage, networking, backup, monitoring, and identity services
• Support VMware vSphere and/or Hyper-V environments
• Act as a technical escalation point for other support teams
• Participate in major incident response, root cause analysis, and change management activities
• Maintain diagrams, documentation, procedures, and asset information
• Utilize PowerShell and automation tools where appropriate to improve operational efficiency

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• 3-5 years of infrastructure, systems, networking
• 3-5 years managed-services support experience preferred
• Experience supporting Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, and virtualization technologies
• Experience working from alerts through escalation, resolution, and documentation

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience with LogicMonitor, NinjaOne, ConnectWise PSA, IT Glue, or similar platforms
• Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Backup, and Azure Site Recovery
• PowerShell scripting and automation experience
• Excellent customer service, documentation, organization, and prioritization skills
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead technical troubleshooting efforts

Shift:

• Wednesday-Sunday, 12:00pm-8:30pm AZ
