Job summary

Henry Ford Health Providence Novi is seeking an NP or PA to serve as the overnight surgical lead, covering nights, weekends, and holidays as the sole overnight provider. You will manage complex post-operative patients, make critical decisions, and guide care across multiple surgical specialties.

Responsibilities include new ED consultations, bedside procedures, OR first assisting when needed, and ensuring seamless communication with nursing and day teams for continuity of care.

Qualifications

• NP or PA degree from an accredited program
• Current Michigan licensure or in process
• National certification: ANCC/AANP (NP) or NCCPA (PA)
• BLS and ACLS required or obtainable after hire
• Minimum 2 years acute care general surgery experience
• Minimum 2 years surgical first assist experience
• DEA registration and Michigan CS license (PA) or DEA (NP)

Responsibilities

• Overnight postoperative management across multiple surgical services
• Diagnose and respond to acute changes, determine urgent needs
• Complete new consultations in ED and for admitted patients
• Perform bedside procedures and assist in OR as needed
• Coordinate with nursing and day teams for continuity of care
