Job summary

Henry Ford Health, Providence Hospital Novi campus, seeks a contingent physician for overnight, non-operative coverage of the General Surgery service. The role includes evaluating routine and emergent consults, handling on-call duties, and coordinating with nursing and case management for patient care.

Shifts are 12-hour overnight (6:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.), with weekend/holiday coverage and options for additional shifts. Michigan license and board eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• MD from an accredited institution.
• Valid medical license to practice in the state of Michigan.
• Board certification or eligibility in the relevant specialty.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients using appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
• Coordinate discharge planning with case management to ensure seamless patient transitions.
• Recommend and participate in initiatives to improve cost-effectiveness and quality of care.
• Accept patient referrals and act as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for hospitalized patients.
• Provide accurate documentation to meet insurance requirements and appeal denials promptly.
• Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultations, including on-call schedules, for your specialty.
