Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients in the surgical ICU or thoracic ICU from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM.
• Perform histories and physical examinations; develop assessments and plans.
• Order and interpret diagnostic procedures (labs, imaging).
• Place central lines and midlines as appropriate.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments.
• Document accurately in the EPIC system.
• Guide and support nursing staff, medical assistants, and unit managers.
• Communicate with physicians, patients, and families about care.
• Supervise PA students, medical students, and residents.
• Foster a positive, team-based work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
