North Shore Steel (with affiliates) is seeking a Sub Arc Long Seam Welder for night shift (6 PM–6 AM) to produce high-quality long-seam welds on pipe and structural components. You will operate SAW systems, read WPS and blueprints, and ensure repeatable, defect-free production while supporting repair work with Quality and production teams.

The role requires strong attention to detail, reliability on night shifts, and proficiency in setup, parameters, and safety.

Formación

• Proven experience operating SAW equipment.
• Strong understanding of weld parameters, heat input, and deposition control.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding schematics.
• Experience with multi-process welding environments (SAW, MIG, FCAW, SMAW).
• Reliability for 12-hour night shifts.

Responsabilidades

• Operate SAW equipment for long seam welding.
• Perform long-seam welds on pipe/cylinders.
• Set and adjust welding parameters per code requirements.
• Execute starts, stops, and tie-ins with minimal defects.
• Monitor weld performance throughout rotation and adjust as needed.
• Read and interpret Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and blueprints.
• Perform carbon arc gouging and grinding to remove defects when required.
• Prepare weld surfaces and maintain equipment in safe condition.
• Keep work area clean and compliant with safety standards.
