The role requires experience with submerged arc welding and the ability to read blueprints and welding symbols, plus AWS SAW certification or the ability to obtain it. Shift is 5pm–3:30am with a safety-focused, production-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with submerged arc welding or automated welding systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols.
• AWS SAW certification or ability to pass it within a set timeframe.
• Mathematical skills to calculate settings and interpret measurements.

Responsibilities

• Machine Setup and Operation: Set up and operate automatic sub-arc welders, adjusting wire feed, voltage, current, and speed.
• Seam Welding: Perform continuous longitudinal or circular welds on large steel components.
• Back-Welding/Repair: Operate a sub-arc back-welder to weld the opposite side of the seam, ensuring 80–100% penetration and UT inspection.
• Material Preparation: Align, clamp, and prep workpieces before and after welding.
• Quality Inspection: Visually inspect welds against blueprints/WPS to ensure standards compliance.
• Material Handling: Use overhead cranes to position large structural components.
