Job summary

North Shore Steel is seeking an experienced Structural Pipe Fitter for day shift, supporting fit-up and assembly of structural pipe and pressure vessel components in line with AWS and ASME codes. You will ensure proper joint preparation, alignment, and dimensional accuracy before welding.

The role requires focus, consistency, and attention to detail in a dayshift (6 AM – 6 PM) environment with collaboration across welders and quality control to deliver code-compliant results.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a pipe fitter or structural fitter in an industrial setting.
• Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.
• Attention to fit-up tolerances and alignment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols.
• Measure, cut, and prepare materials to specifications.
• Perform precision fit-up for weld joints.
• Use grinders, torches, levels, and measuring tools.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, and alignment before welding.
• Collaborate with welders and Quality to ensure code-compliant results.
• Identify and correct fit-up issues before welding.
• Maintain tools and workspace in safe, organized condition and clean.
