Responsibilities include reading specifications, fabricating metal parts, operating cranes, and ensuring safety and compliance across the work site. Requires the ability to work outdoors and follow complex instructions in a dynamic industrial environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with field experience.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints to determine material locations and quantities.
• Fabricates metal parts and assembles steel frames, columns, beams or girders.
• Unloads and positions prefabricated steel units using cranes and signaling operators.
• Verifies alignment with plumb bobs, lasers or levels.
• Cuts, bends or welds steel pieces with torches or welding equipment.
• Rigs hoisting equipment to move heavy materials.
• Estimates sizes, distances, times, costs and resources for work.
• Inspects subordinate's work for compliance with plans.
