Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a capable store leader for overnight operations. You will plan, direct and supervise the overnight team across departments, mentor staff, and drive sales while maintaining excellent customer service and store presentation.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to provide clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members in all areas of the organization including SDITs, hourly team members and team leaders.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members; implement strategies to improve customer service and drive sales.
• Ensure store appearance aligns with prime shopping hours and company standards.
• Staff overnight team: selection, interviews and onboarding to meet staffing needs.
• Open and close the Meijer Gas Station; ensure safety during overnight shift.
• Uphold Meijer standards and provide fast, friendly customer service.
• Promote succession planning and development for team members.
