Job summary

Hy-Vee in Des Moines, IA is seeking an Overnight Stocker to keep shelves full, organized, and ready for customers each morning. You’ll unload trucks, stock products, rotate stock, and help shoppers find items, while supporting the overnight team.

No prior experience is required; Hy-Vee provides training. This is a physically active, fast-paced role that rewards reliability, teamwork, and attention to detail, with safety and dress code standards enforced.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; up to six months of similar or related experience preferred.
• You don't need prior experience for this role! We'll happily train and support you as you grow.
• Follow written and verbal instructions with confidence.
• Use basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and helping them find what they need
• Assist customers with finding products, reaching items, carrying heavy purchases, and passing along any feedback or requests to the team
• Unload trucks, open containers, stock shelves, run overstock on risers, and rotate product to ensure freshness
• Monitor for mis-picked items, product outs, and wrong deliveries, and report issues accordingly
• Organize stock for greatest efficiency and restock any damaged items
• Tag shelves with overstock in the back room and understock drawers
• Report new or different items to the scanning coordinator for system input
• Work alongside your teammates to ensure a smooth, efficient overnight operation
• Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed
