Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for the Condell Medical Center GI Services department. The role includes decontamination, tray assembly, and sterilization validation to ensure patient safety.

You will work a day shift, 40 hours per week, with no holidays or weekends. A high school diploma and SPD experience are required, plus the ability to follow directions and use computer tracking systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• 1 year SPD experience preferred.
• Certified Central Service Tech within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate and follow directions.
• Basic computer skills and comfort with tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate instruments and equipment per procedures.
• Set up and operate decontamination equipment for the shift.
• Assemble instrument trays and verify correct items are present.
• Validate sterilization cycles and document results in the tracking system.
• Inventory, store and distribute sterile supplies to departments.
• Maintain clean work areas and report equipment issues.
