Job summary

Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) seeks a Sterile Processing Technician for weekend nights, 7pm–7:30am, full-time. High School Diploma or GED is required, and CRCST certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire or per state grandfathering guidelines.

Training is provided to achieve the required certification and to ensure proper processing of instruments and equipment. The role includes cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, inventory management and documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• CRCST certification within 18 months or state grandfathering guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize and distribute reusable instruments and equipment.
• Collect used and contaminated items for sorting and decontamination.
• Manually clean supplies and operate decontamination equipment.
