Job summary

UMC Health System in Texas is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to organize, clean, sterilize, store and distribute instruments for surgical procedures. Scheduled for 11:00pm - 7:00am, you will handle packaging, loading for sterilization, equipment tracking, and run the Detergent Management System.

A high school diploma is required; basic computer skills are needed and you should be willing to learn Cerner/IDX.

Qualifications

• Experience in Sterile Processing and/or Instrumentation helpful.
• Computer skills required; familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to learn Cerner, IDX, and hospital programs.

Responsibilities

• Process and package instruments and instrument sets for procedures.
• Package and load items on the carriage for sterilization.
• Store, issue and track equipment; deliver to departments.
• Operate and troubleshoot the Detergent Management System.
• Test equipment and document sterility guidelines.
