Job summary

University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (UMC) seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to support patient care by providing sterilized instruments and trays. Duties include collecting used instruments for cleaning, decontamination and sterilization within the department.

Required are a high school diploma or equivalent and enrollment in a sterile processing program or 1 year of relevant experience; CRCST/CBSPD certification must be obtained at hire. Evening/night/weekend availability preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enrollment in sterile processing vocational program or 1 year of sterile processing experience.
• CRCST or CBSPD certification required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide sterilized instruments and trays for patient care.
• Retrieve used instruments for cleaning, decontamination and sterilization.
• Maintain sterility and follow safety procedures in a clinical setting.
