Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY. You will be responsible for decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilization and distribution of sterile goods to hospital departments.

The role requires passing a national central service exam or grand-fathering experience, with certifications due within defined timeframes. Work schedule is nights, Monday-Friday, 11pm to 7:30am, and base pay ranges from $20.75 to $25.00 per hour

Qualifications

• Nationally accredited central service exam and certifications.
• Evidence of Central Service Technician credentials acceptable (grand-fathering).
• Certification required within 18 months of hire if not grand-fathered.

Responsibilities

• Process and supply sterile goods and equipment to hospital areas including decontamination, gleaning, packing, sterilizing, storing and distribution.
• Maintain supplies used in sterilization processes and replenish as needed.
• Report unavailable supplies for replenishment.
• Distribute supplies and equipment throughout hospital and affiliates as ordered.
• Follow department policies and keep areas clean and fully stocked.
• Transport medications from crash cart to pharmacy.
