UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Supervisor to ensure instrumentation and equipment availability during night shifts in La Grange, Illinois. You will lead the department in the absence of leadership, monitor PPE use, and participate in training and process improvements.

The role emphasizes adherence to infection control standards, correct sterilization methods, inventory management, and effective communication with hospital teams.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and medical terminology.
• Ability to lead others and work under stress and tight deadlines.
• Understanding customer needs and responding pro-actively and professionally.
• Knowledge of infection control principles and aseptic techniques.
• Familiarity with central sterile processes and equipment management.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Serve as shift charge person in the absence of leadership, prioritizing work for instrumentation availability.
• Ensure safe work practices and monitor PPE use in decontamination area.
• Oversee inventory and equipment required for the department; rotate assignments within decontamination, tray assembly, sterilization, and equipment management.
• Operate sterilization equipment and select correct methods per IFU; initiate recall processes as needed.
• Maintain infection control standards and environmental cleaning; document records and take corrective actions.
• Respond to problem calls and communicate with hospital team members.
