Job summary

JLL is seeking a Stationary Engineer in Milpitas, CA to operate, maintain, and repair building mechanical systems including high‑pressure boilers, chillers, and AHUs. This union-based role requires compliance with safety codes and active licenses, with an emphasis on energy efficiency.

The position schedules Tuesday-Saturday, 10 PM–6:30 AM and entails physical work in mechanical rooms, plus coordination with contractors for specialized repairs. Local visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–5 years experience operating building mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of boiler operations, HVAC systems, and building automation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification preferred.
• Additional trade certifications (electrical, plumbing) preferred.
• Experience with CMMS and energy management practices welcome.

Responsibilities

• Operates and monitors building mechanical systems including boilers, chillers, and pumps.
• Performs preventive maintenance and maintains logs of operations and repairs.
• Responds to emergencies, troubleshoots issues, and coordinates with external contractors.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local codes, maintains licenses.
• Monitors building automation and identifies energy optimization opportunities.
