Job summary

Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) is seeking a Stationary Engineer for the night shift to operate, inspect, and maintain high pressure boilers, chillers and related equipment that provide heat, cooling, power and water for the Hospital. The role requires monitoring gauges, performing water tests, and ensuring safe, efficient plant operations in a healthcare environment.

Qualified candidates will have a High school diploma or GED, 2–3 years boiler room experience, and a valid Ohio Stationary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Operate and maintain boilers, turbines, steam engines, pumps, condensers, chillers and air conditioning units.
• Direct one other employee and work independently following established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Make hourly inspections of equipment, monitor operation of main and auxiliary equipment, and check for malfunctions.
• Maintain logs of gauges and meters and surveillance of control panels.
• Maintain boiler water level and operate feed pumps and blow down boilers.
• Evaluate changes in service and activate additional boilers as needed.
• Remove water samples, perform tests, and treat water with chemicals.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on heating, cooling and ventilation equipment.
• Train and supervise Plant Operations Assistant.
